Therapy

GriefTree offers various techniques and trauma-informed interventions including.

Modern Grief Models and Interventions

Therapy that uses elements of the Dual Process Model and tasks of mourning as well as other current models of grief that acknowledge grief is not neatly tucked into sequential stages. Rather, grief is messy, a rollercoaster that comes in waves of emotions and restorative oriented tasks.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a phased, focused approach to treating trauma and other symptoms. It facilitates the accessing and processing of traumatic memories and other adverse life experience in order for the healing powers of the brain to bring an adaptive resolution.

Narrative therapy

A respectful, non-blaming approach to counseling, which centers people as the experts in their own lives. This allows people to find their voice and to recognize that they are not the problem, the problem is the problem.

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT)

Helps identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts while teaching practical self-help strategies. CBT allows you to think in a less negative way about yourself and your circumstances in order to improve function and quality of life.

Goal Oriented and Strengths-Based Therapy

A type of positive psychotherapy and counseling that focuses on the individual’s internal strengths and resourcefulness, creating a positive mindset to help you identify your strengths, improve resilience, and reframe your perspective. This includes setting goals and orienting towards achievement.
